Transfer Student Scholarship

Automatic, Quick, Renewable

Transfer Student Scholarship is a scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students who are eligible to pay in-state tuition and have not attended UHCL before. Your admissions application is your scholarship application. Scholarship status is determined after the Office of Admissions receives your admissions application, including official college transcripts, and makes a decision on your application.

Eligibility

  • Admission to UHCL (Apply to UHCL Now)
  • A transfer grade point average of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a first-time UHCL undergraduate student eligible for in-state tuition
  • Enroll in at least 9 credit hours each semester

Awards

  • $1,000 paid at $500/semester for 2 consecutive Fall/Spring semesters
      • Requires 3.0 - 4.0 transfer GPA
      • Renewable for an additional 2 consecutive Fall/Spring semesters if your cumulative GPA is at least 3.0 and 18 credit hours were earned during an academic year
  • $800 paid at $400/semester for 2 consecutive Fall/Spring semesters
      • Requires 2.75 - 2.99 transfer GPA
      • Renewable for an additional 2 consecutive Fall/Spring semesters if your cumulative GPA is at least 2.75 and 18 credit hours were earned during an academic year

Receiving Scholarship Funds

We put your scholarship award on your account about 10 days before the first day of class for the fall and spring semesters. If you are enrolled for less than 9 credit hours by the 12th class day, you can't receive your scholarship and we have to take back your award.
