UHCL profs win award for speed dating-inspired classroom activity

Speed dating has been helping singles meet since the late ‘90s, but for a University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) research team, it inspired an award-winning research project that ultimately enhanced student connections in the classroom. Five faculty members from the College of Human Sciences and Humanities (HSH) worked on the research project: Drs. Christal Seahorn, Lisa Sublett, Amanda Johnston, Christine Walther, and Georgina Moreno.

Calling future innovators: Sign up for UHCL's STEM Challenge

University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) will host its annual spring 2024 STEM Challenge on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in UH-Clear Lake’s Bayou Building and STEM Building. This team-based competition, offering both Programming and Science Tracks, promises a day full of enrichment, awards, scholarships to UHCL up to $3,000, prizes and much more. Teams will engage in a series of challenges encompassing logic, engineering, programming, and science, showcasing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

UHCL adjunct prof recognized as leader in OSHE field

Dr. Patricia Reed, an adjunct professor at University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL), stands as a testament to the impact that dedication and expertise can have in the occupational safety, health, and environment (OSHE) field. As we observe Black History Month, we acknowledge leaders like Reed as they make significant strides in their professions and communities. “This time is taken to honor the Black/African-American individuals who have given so much of their time helping improve things in our country in terms of freedoms/civil liberties, patents/inventions, etc.,” Reed said about Black History Month.
