About Media Relations

Let the Media Relations team help you share the university story in a variety of ways, from traditional media to digital media, and to engage with the community and media organizations.

News and media

Our team of expert writers produces original content for news stories, events calendar, social media and media alerts, and manages media inquiries and visits to campus.

Have a story idea? Know of a unique student success story, faculty conducting innovative research, or alumni making a difference? We want to know! Share your story ideas with us at news@uhcl.edu, and we will work with you to identify the best channels to share your news.

Faculty experts

University professors and staff members are great resources for media organizations that are seeking experts to appear in print, radio, television or online interviews. The Media Relations team can connect media with faculty to speak on a variety of news topics that fit in their area of expertise.

Media training

If you receive a call from a journalist looking for your comment, we offer best practices, answer questions and help communicate with with media. The resources provided here are intended to supply information and tools to help faculty and staff maintain effective, consistent communication with our many audiences: students, prospective students, donors, alumni and community friends.
