The Captain Wendell M. Wilson Office of Veteran Services Office is offering services in person, via email, and online.

CertFest Summer and Fall 2021

CertFest is only for returning students. New students must contact the VSO for an onboarding and orientation appointment (281-283-3071 or VSO@uhcl.edu).  

Students can begin signing up for appointments for Summer CertFest on April 12th.  

Appointments will be 15-minutes (virtual and in-person available) and will be on a first-come first-serve basis.

Resident Courses

Effective Oct. 1, 2020

Important Announcement: Special COVID rules extended to December 21, 2021. With the passage of H.R.8337 - Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act, the special COVID rules have been extended. Post 9/11 GI Bill students who pursue resident courses converted to an online modality solely due to COVID-19 will continue to receive the MHA rate for resident training.

Students who have any questions concerning their course modality should contact their learning institution. For specific questions about VA education benefits, please call the Education Call center at 1-888-442-4551.

VA Benefits and Spring 2021 Instruction Modes

Effective immediately, courses scheduled for Bi-modal, Online-Synchronous, and Online-Synchronous/Asynchronous are the modalities authorized to be certified with the Department of Veterans Affairs as resident coursework.

  • Courses scheduled for Bi-modal delivery are labeled bi-modal under the “instruction mode” column.
  • Courses scheduled for Online-Synchronous delivery are labeled Online-Synch under the “instruction mode” column.
  • Courses scheduled for Online-Synchronous/Asynchronous delivery are labeled Online-Sync/Async under the “instruction mode” column.

Veterans Resources at UHCL

UHCL provides a wide range of degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels to meet a variety of interests and career objectives. Class times across campus are conducive to students who work full-time jobs to support their families, including multiple degree programs that are exclusively online or primarily in the evening.
