Emergency Assistance

Hawks Helping Hawks

We understand and recognize that being a student can be challenging in more than one aspect. In addition to balancing life and school, there may come a time when you need some assistance due to an unexpected and unforeseen life circumstance.

In order to help support you during these times, we have established the following support programs:

Hawk Emergency Fund Grant

Assistance is available to currently enrolled UHCL students experiencing unforeseen, unavoidable, and extenuating emergency circumstances which potentially cause difficulties enrolling or remaining enrolled in classes. For details pertaining to qualifications and the application process, please visit the link above.

Gowns for Grads

For graduating students who are experiencing a crisis or unforeseen emergency, Gowns for Grads lends donated graduation regalia. The program also accepts donations of gently used UHCL gowns, caps, and other graduation regalia.

CARES Act

UHCL has finished disbursing the Federal funding received through the CARES Act to directly assist students. Visit our CARES Act Reporting page for more information on how these funds were administered.
