Dwayne D. Busby oversees the mission, goals and overall purpose of Strategic Partnerships, which includes actively pursuing and promoting applied research, internships, and experiential learning opportunities designed to enhance our students’ academic experiences. Our goal is to prepare students to be courageous, competent, confident and caring citizens of the world. Busby and his team partner with departments across the institution to coordinate events and activities that would influence and engage the community. Prior to his current role, Dwayne served as executive director of University Advancement, where he oversaw the development and alumni relations teams for UHCL. Before his arrival at UHCL, Busby was major gifts officer for the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. Prior to joining the University of Houston System, Busby worked for Clark University for six years as a major gifts officer, where he led the west coast and southern region in engagement and fundraising efforts as part of a $125-million comprehensive campaign. From Wesleyan University, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Liberal Studies.
