Disabled Parking
Accessible Parking Overview
University of Houston-Clear Lake provides accessible parking spaces for use by disabled individuals in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). These spaces are available to eligible students, faculty/staff, and visitors. This policy provides the guidelines governing the use of these parking spaces and the issuance of accessible parking permits to eligible students and faculty/staff.
Faculty, Staff and Students
Designated accessible parking spaces in surface lots are for the exclusive use of vehicles displaying county-issued International Symbol of Access (ISA)-disabled hangtags or ISA-disabled license plates. Individuals who park in accessible spaces must have an active University of Houston–Clear Lake parking permit AND display their county-issued ISA-disabled hangtag (or ISA-disabled license plate affixed in the designated location on the vehicle). The ISA county-issued disabled hangtag must be hanging on the rearview mirror.
DV Plates
Disabled veterans with DV plates can park in student parking lots without a UHCL permit. To park in handicapped spaces, disabled veterans with DV plates are still required to have an ISA county-issued disabled hangtag.
