Biography
Matthias Woeckener a Lecturer in Criminology. He is working towards completing his
dissertation at Sam Houston State University. He earned his Master's degree from the
same institution.
His research focuses on incorporating biological and psychological influences into
contemporary explanations of criminal behavior, with a particular emphasis on applying
these influences to currently existing criminological theory. Particularly of importance
is the role that familial factors play in the development of antisocial behavior.
Matthias has been teaching since 2017, and focuses on implementing effective pedagogical
strategies to enhance student learning. He also conducts research related to teaching
practices to test their effectiveness.
