Brandon Harris, Ph.D.

Biography

Brandon Harris earned his Ph.D. in Media Studies from the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. His research interests lie at the intersections of media production, platform studies, and critical media industry studies. His dissertation examined how labor from influential content creators shapes the digital platforms they operate on.

Dr. Harris's work considers how the tensions and interplays between influencers and technology corporations fuel the platformization of cultural production. His work has been published in venues such as New Media & Society, Convergence, and Critical Studies in Media Communication.
