Dear Faculty and Staff:
As the State of Texas gradually begins to re-open, I want to inform you that UH-Clear Lake will continue to safely operate remotely as we have over the past several weeks. Please do not return to your offices tomorrow. As we move forward, a phased return-to-campus process will be implemented, and you will be notified when you are cleared to begin on-campus work activities. This decision is predicated on the fact that the health risk of the pandemic remains.
While computer labs at the Clear Lake and Pearland campuses will be open during finals for students with limited access to technology, our current mode of operation remains in place. If you have been designated by your supervisor as “essential personnel” you may continue working as you have been. If you wish to come to campus and access your office, classroom, or any university space, please contact your supervisor and complete the Protocol and Certification for Employees Working on Campus training before coming to campus.
Until such time as our local health officials advise that it is prudent to implement a return-to-campus process in a manner that protects the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, the current state of operations will remain in effect. For more information, please access the Phased Return to Campus Protocols.
Thank you for your continued hard work and understanding. I look forward to providing additional information as it becomes available. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay connected.
Ira K. Blake, Ph.D.
