Hurricane Evacuation

Emergency Evacuation Transportation Registration

During an emergency, UHCL may provide transportation to an evacuation shelter for UHCL students.  Registration for this service is available only to current UHCL students without a means to evacuate.

Registration Details

Registration is valid for the current 2018 hurricane season only. Seats are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Complete and submit the following to the Student Assistance Center (SAC):

  1. Submit online: Emergency Evacuation Transportation Form
  2. Submit to SAC: Travel Waiver (pdf)
  3. Submit to SAC: Photocopy of your current UHCL Student ID

A registration confirmation will be sent to your UHCL email account.
Note: Registration documents will not be accepted if information is not complete or legible. If you are not 18 years of age upon submission of the Travel Waiver form, a parent/guardian’s signature is required.

In the Event of an Evacuation

Notification

You are notified by phone/email. Report to SAC at the time specified by the phone/email notification. Bring your current UHCL ID and other items listed in the What to Bring section. You will be directed to an evacuation bus.

Be aware that notification time can vary greatly. Not only do hurricanes develop at different rates (sometimes in just hours), but the threat to our area must be assessed by weather and government officials.
