Important COVID-19 Update
We know that the countless impacts of COVID-19 are affecting all of our UHCL Students in many ways. Counseling Services is committed to providing services in the best interest of your emotional and mental health needs and continued personal growth during this very challenging time. We are currently offering all services remotely Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency please call 281-283-2580 and press 2 to speak with a mental health counselor.
If you are in need of additional support services, have questions or concerns not related to Counseling Services, please contact the Dean of Students Office.

For existing clients, we are still offering individual/couples therapy appointments, psychiatry follow-ups, and case management sessions by Zoom, a HIPAA compliant videoconferencing system. Please call our office for an appointment.
For new clients, please call us at 281-283-2580 and we will triage you by phone to determine the most appropriate treatment option.

Free access to specially trained mental health specialists to provide support to people who may be experiencing anxiety or stress following the recent developments around COVID-19. This helpline is provided by Optum and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Any currently enrolled student is eligible to receive counseling services, and most services are free of charge. All faculty and staff are eligible for a consultation session and referral for continued services. Services are strictly confidential.
