Description of Job

The student in this position will provide clerical/administrative support to the Senior Academic Advisor and Advising Office at the Texas Medical Center Location. Responsibilities will include assisting with the daily operation of the Academic Advisin Office; provide excellent customer service, support, and general information to students, staff, and visitors by phone and in person. Manage advisor claendar, schedule appointments, check students in/out, assist in answering phone calls received,; answer basic questions, and/or refer visitors or callers to the appropriate person at UCHL. Assist with special projects/events as needed. Intakes of academic record forms, filing, scanning, shredding, retrieving transcripts from PeopleSoft (as needed), refer students as needed.

Qualifications or Preferences

Current UHCL student in good academic standing. Verbal and written command of the English language.Capable of managing a high volume of requests with efficiency and professionalism. Ability to manage time and commitments without extensive supervision. Must pass criminal background check. proficient in computer systems and applications (Outlook Calendar). Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality. Positive attitude, abiity to multi-task, team oriented, responsible, punctual.
