The Alternative Spring Break program enhances the co-curricular experience by placing leadership in the context of civic responsibility and service to the global community. The goal is to develop a civic perspective, promote leadership, critical thinking, social action, and community involvement by combining experiential learning and direct service.
Spend the week in Corpus Christi building homes and repairing damage from Hurricane Harvey as a part of Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge.
Corpus Christi Habitat for Humanity unites the community with people in need to provide the life-changing opportunity to purchase and own simple, quality, affordable homes.
As a participant, you’ll be learning about substandard living conditions and how affordable housing builds strength, stability and self-reliance for homeowners. This will allow you to see not just a house being built or repaired, but the people behind it.
