Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
During the month of May, we honor and celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month across the UHCL campus. It's a great opportunity to learn more about the diversity, customs, and the culture, language, and history of Asian and Pacific Islanders.
Black History Month
During the month of February, in line with federally-designated celebrations, we celebrate Black History month at UHCL. The goal is to honor the history, innovations, culture, contributions, and education of African Americans. When applicable, important themes and social topics are discussed.
Latino Heritage Month
Latino Heritage Month is nationally recognized September 15 - October 15 every year. At UHCL, the goal of Latino Heritage Month is to focus on the experiences of Latino students, staff, and the overall community.
Our educational programs and events encourage the participation of both Latinos and non-Latinos and focus on encouraging critical dialogue, the sharing of the Latino voice and experience, and the many intersecting identities of Latinos and Latinas.
Native American Heritage Month
Native American Heritage Month celebrations are intended to bring awareness to campus concerning the culture, diversity, challenges, and traditions of indigenous tribes of North America during the month of November.
