April 18 - May 16, 2013
The 2013 Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition was juried by UHCL International Art Consortium member institution professors Bedrich Kocman and Jan Kocman (University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic) and Michael Marshall (University of Hawaii at Hilo). Works selected into the exhibition represent the best of what the graduating BFA class has to offer. Featured in the exhibition were a flurry of media including drawings, paintings, ceramics, prints, sculptures, textiles, photographs, and digital media. The result sometimes goes beyond one discipline, proving that the education that art students receive at UHCL is a contemporary and interdisciplinary artistic approach. With the major renovation of the Arbor building having been completed in 2012, students had access to state-of-the-art workshop facilities. Having these terrific resources available affords them the opportunity to perfect their craft.
Featured in the exhibition were Alberto Alanis, Joshua Benjamin Alberto, Paul Atwell, Jennifer Brahm, Micol Cavazos, Kathryn A. Creek, Kit Davis, Marlen Delgado, Lorie Evans, Bryan Keith Gardner, Yocasta Gonzaléz, Jeremy Hiller, Joshua Hussa, Davis Kent, Jill Kathryn LeGrand, Rebekah Mackey, Sharlie Marino, Shannon Melder, Ashley Newell, Elena Olson, Lauren Palos, Jason Shaw, and Elizabeth Welch.
