Nearly 8,000 Pearland residents – about 15 percent of Pearland’s work-age population – work in health-related fields, according to recent U.S. Census Bureau estimates. Created in collaboration with the City of Pearland in 2010, University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland Campus meets the needs of many including those building careers in the health fields.
UHCL broke ground on a $24.6 million Health Sciences and Classroom Building that will encompass 69,539 square feet across three stories. Scheduled to open in spring 2019, this facility will allow us to increase the quality of and enrollment in our already successful health science programs, specifically the RN to-BSN and Licensed Professional Counselor Certifications programs. We also plan to open a satellite operation of our Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
