Acquire Skills That Never Become Obsolete

Studying liberal arts is as relevant today as it’s always been, and the Department of Liberal Arts within UHCL's College of Human Sciences and Humanities can provide the solid foundation in a broad range of subjects. With globally interconnected workplaces, employers are even more interested in finding workers who are creative, clear communicators who understand the larger picture. Any major choice within the liberal arts is designed to expose you to the broadest range of human knowledge and give you the critical thinking skills and understanding to appreciate diverse, ethical issues.

The Department of Liberal Arts houses the History, Humanities and Literature programs, and the faculty strives to help students develop and enhance their analytical and research skills by exposing them to the customs, values, and behaviors of culturally diverse populations as expressed through the texts, arts, and artifacts of those populations.
