Approval is a two-stage process. Stage I approval is based on academic requirements and Stage II is obtained when a student receives a job offer that meets the Co-op job requirements. On average, it takes about two weeks for each stage of the application to be processed.
Students who wish to participate in Co-op are advised to meet with their academic advisor to review academic eligibility prior to applying for Co-op. The associate dean of each participating school grants approval for student participation. To receive credit, Co-op applications must be submitted prior to the census date (12th day of class) of that semester. Applying for Co-op does not guarantee a Co-op job.
Students cannot start a Co-op job prior to receiving Stage I and Stage II approval, and may not hold any other position while enrolled in Co-op. Those who receive job offers mid-semester or after the registration deadline should contact the Co-op Coordinator directly. All requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. |
