UH-Clear Lake honored for excellence in teacher education Recognized
for its leadership and innovation in teacher education, University of
Houston-Clear Lake has been named the winner of the 2009 Christa
McAuliffe Award for Excellence in Teacher Education by the American
Association of State Colleges and Universities.
UH-Clear Lake is the
sole recipient of this year’s award, which recognizes innovative
teacher education programs that document the success of their graduates
and their impact on the students they teach. AASCU will use UH-Clear
Lake’s practices as an example for other teacher education programs
nationwide.

UH-Clear Lake celebrates Veterans Day Local
veterans will get special recognition from University of Houston-Clear
Lake as it hosts the seventh annual Veterans Day Celebration on Nov.
11.
Sponsored by the
UH-Clear Lake’s Office of Alumni and Community Relations and supported
by area businesses, organizations and volunteers, the event takes place
10:30 a.m. – noon at the university’s Liberty Park and Student Services
and Classroom Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.

New dean joins UH-Clear Lake University of Houston-Clear Lake named Zbigniew J. Czajkiewicz as the university’s dean of the university’s School of Science and Computer Engineering. Czajkiewicz comes to UH-Clear Lake from Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania, where he was head of the Center of Applied Research in Engineering and Science.
