" You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand." — Woodrow Wilson

Bachelor’s Degree in
Public Service Leadership

Do you see the need for better leadership in our society?

Consider earning your bachelor’s degree in public service leadership. It provides knowledge and skills in management, strategic planning, conflict resolution, organizational communication, and other leadership skills. It can point the way to many careers, but they all have something common—leadership opportunities in a changing world. Opportunities that represent complex challenges.

The practice of public leadership has undergone significant development over the last 50 years. Today, skilled leaders find careers in public, private, and not-for-profit organizations. Within those organizations, roles include the following: management, training, teaching, consulting, policymaking, urban planning, and more. Increasingly, employers need and seek candidates who have leadership skills—those who understand the processes of bringing group members to consensus for achieving desired outcomes.

Public leadership begins with personal leadership and responsibility. That means defining your goals, identifying and removing obstacles, and moving forward. Leading others requires strong people skills, and understanding the role that participation plays in governance.
